A family-owned investment and operating group with three generations of expertise.
We are long-term owners, not a fund. We acquire, reposition, and hold heritage real estate and hospitality assets — applying patient capital and hands-on management to unlock enduring value.
Jastar Capital is a family-owned investment and operating group with a clear and consistent philosophy: identify extraordinary heritage assets, acquire them with conviction, and hold them for the long term. We are not a fund seeking exit multiples — we are stewards of the buildings we own.
With three generations of combined expertise across hospitality, property development, and active asset management, the principals of Jastar Capital bring a depth of operational understanding that distinguishes us from purely financial investors. Every acquisition begins with a thorough view of what a building can become over a generation, not a quarter.
We specialise in Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, historic country estates, and architecturally significant urban assets — asset classes where planning complexity, heritage constraints, and repositioning risk deter most capital, and where our experience creates genuine competitive advantage. These are the assets we understand best, and the ones we believe deliver the greatest long-term value.
Today, the Jastar Capital portfolio spans flagship London aparthotels and landmark development sites, two celebrated Hampshire hotels, a Grade I listed City of London riverside building with planning consent secured, and a dedicated bloodstock investment platform through Laili Bloodstock. Across each vertical, the same values apply: patience, expertise, and a genuine commitment to the assets we steward.
We acquire assets with conviction and hold them for the long term, applying patient capital to unlock lasting value. We are not motivated by short-term exits — we measure success in decades, not deal cycles. Our family ownership structure gives us the freedom to act with genuine patience.
We specialise in listed buildings, historic estates, and architecturally significant assets where complexity creates competitive advantage. Planning constraint, heritage obligation, and operational intricacy are features of the assets we seek — not risks we tolerate reluctantly. Our experience navigating these challenges is a core part of our edge.
With three generations of hospitality and property experience, we are active stewards of every asset in our portfolio. We engage directly with operators, architects, planners, and tenants — ensuring that value creation decisions are made by people with full ownership context, not delegated away from accountability.
Hotels · Aparthotels
Our primary investment vertical. We own, operate, and reposition heritage hotels and branded aparthotels across London and the south of England. Our hospitality assets are characterised by architectural distinction, strong location credentials, and premium positioning — from Grade II listed city-centre hotels to landmark riverside conversions.
Mixed-use · Heritage Repositioning
We pursue complex development opportunities in London where heritage constraints, planning complexity, and asset significance combine to create barriers to entry. Our pipeline includes the transformation of the Grade I listed Custom House on the City of London's north bank and the major mixed-use St. Martins Development in Bloomsbury, a £242m consent secured with ORMS Architects.
Selective Highlights
Residential forms a selective component of our broader portfolio, typically arising as part of mixed-use repositioning schemes or through the premium residential component of larger hospitality-led developments. Native King's Wardrobe in the City of London — a Grade II listed conversion of 102 high-specification apartments — is a representative example of our residential capability and ambition.
Laili Bloodstock
A dedicated investment platform under the Laili Bloodstock banner, encompassing the selection, training, trading, and breeding of thoroughbreds. Bloodstock represents an extension of the Jastar Capital philosophy into a distinct but complementary asset class — one requiring deep expertise, long time horizons, and careful stewardship. Laili Bloodstock operates independently with its own specialist management team.
The Jastar Capital principals bring decades of direct experience across hospitality, development, and asset management.
We welcome conversations with family offices, institutional capital partners, deal brokers, and professional advisers.
